HTC One Android 4.2.2 update coming soon, XDA dev already has access to it

1 min read

HTC One owners have been waiting impatiently for the Android 4.2.2 update to arrive in official form, and it seems the wait may be over soon, at least for those in Asia – XDA developer torxx reportedly has access to the official Asian update and is currently porting it to the European variant of the HTC One.

torxx, who develops the popular custom ROM TrickDroid for the One, refused to give more information other than confirming he’s working on a port, though he did tweet a few details of the 4.2.2 firmware’s build properties. Earlier rumors pointed towards an official release of the update in early June, and since Asia usually gets the update a week or two before other regions, this might just be the real deal.

Android 4.2 has been out for more than six months now, so here’s hoping HTC stops delaying and pushes out the update quickly, before Google comes out with Android 4.3 and puts the Taiwanese manufacturer’s flagship two Android versions behind.
