If you use Android smartphone, at times you might feel the device is starting to slow down or showing signs of aging. If you really want to customize your Android device, you must think out of the Box. Customizing Android is an art that very few people believe in performing. Its the process of making your Android device the best of other, by adding features that are not provided. Manufacturers don’t allow System level customization as novice users can damage the device permanently. So, to make the device completely yours, you need to Root your Android device.
After rooting your device, you need to install Xposed in your Android device. If you’re not aware of Xposed, its an Android tool that hooks into your Android’s System & allows you to perform customization at System level. Xposed doesn’t touch any of your System files there by not performing any permanent change. You can remove the setting anytime just by removing the framework.
What’s is Xposed Framework & Xposed Installer?
Xposed is an app which allows system level customization. But since Android Lollipop, Google has made Android security more strict. You need to flash Xposed Framework, which hooks into your System’s core files & acts as a middle man. Now the Framework is all ready to make changes to the System.
You will now require something to manage the Framework as you don’t want to mess with codes & system files. Something that offers you an interface & you can use it to change System files. The Xposed installer offers an interface for the Framework. Installer has different options that you can perform to command the Framework.
Suppose, if you want to change your Navigation bar icons, you first need to install an App with Navigation icon designs. Now the second step would be to provide this Icons to Xposed Installer. So, you need to enable the module in Xposed installer. After enabling the module, Xposed is all set to use the App to make changes. The last step is when Xposed Framework takes the command from Xposed Installer of what changes need to be made.
Why is Xposed different than any Themes app?
Xposed allows not only allows you to customize but also to add more features in your Android. With the help of Xposed, you can add features like “Tap to wake” which comes pre-installed with few Android devices.
The Xposed, makes the changes at Framework level rather than changing the exact System files. So that after uninstalling the App, the features/affect of the app is removed too. So you can say that Xposed only does framework level customization rather than System level.
How to install Xposed in Android?
As I said, Xposed installation has 2 parts. First the installation of Xposed Framework & second the installation of Xposed Installer.
